Event Recap: Leveraging Data to Achieve Agency Mission
“Traditionally, IT systems in agencies have been about the transaction, but more and more, data is essential for mission success,” said Bob Jeffcott, Principal Systems Engineer with Software AG Government Solutions. With that, he added that “new technology and new expectations have created increasing demands for dynamic, real-time access to data”, which have been bolstered by AI and AI-specific datasets. One step toward understanding how agency data and mission is strengthened by AI (and other emerging technologies) is how the U.S. Federal Government is defining AI. They define it as “A machine-based system that can, for a set of human-defined objectives, make predictions, recommendations, or decisions influencing real or virtual environments.”
