The Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA) codifies the Department of Homeland Security’s role in administering the implementation of information security policies created by NIST in order to secure federal information system security.
2021 brought many changes to Federal Cybersecurity requirements that will impact FISMA compliance—and affect government and contractor information systems and enterprises. Specifically, NIST Special Publication (SP) 800-53, Revision 5, Security and Privacy Controls for Information Systems and Organizations contains several revisions that impact FISMA compliance, including consolidating the control catalog, integrating supply chain risk management, and adding new state-of-the-practice controls.
This virtual workshop will look at how these myriad changes impact FISMA compliance in 2022. Topics include identifying the changes and providing strategies to implement solutions.
