Event Recap: How to Align Cloud Strategy with Agency Mission

As we close out of 2022, government agencies have been part of a modernization movement, migrating to the cloud at various degrees for over 10 years. Although, “government [now] believes in the cloud…due to evidence of ROI, greater agility and access to talent”, according to Keith Nelson with OpenText, there are still a number of challenges in making that migration. Skip Jentsch with GSA put “upfront costs” at the top of that list. Wenming Kuai with GBTI Solutions added that having and maintaining a skilled workforce is a problem. How do agencies most effectively make the transition to the cloud? What have been lessons learned and best practices over the years? How can agencies prepare for a skilled workforce in flexible, hybrid work environments moving forward?
